About

We’re located on NY Route 97 just outside of Narrowsburg, New York. You can find a Google Map of our exact location here.

We are open Friday to Monday from May until September. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays we open at 10 AM, on Sundays at 12; we close at 5 PM.

Our tours are very unique in their approach to our site; since we are a living history museum, we encourage our guests to explore the Fort on their own and meet and interact with our demonstrators. The first part of the tour, however, which takes between 15 and 20 minutes, is guided. The whole tour can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.

We have a different variety of animals every year in an effort to recreate the lifestyle of the original settlers, who would have engaged in much more animal husbandry than other kinds of farming. None of the livestock, however, is ours, but rather is donated to us while we are open by local farmers. We encourage a “look, don’t touch” approach to the animals (as we do with all of our exhibits) in order to keep both the animals and our guests safe and happy.

We are sensitive to the economic times and are pleased to inform our guests that our prices are not exorbitant:

  • Adults – $7.00
  • Children (5-14) – $4.00
  • Children (5 and under) – FREE
  • Senior Citizens (62 and over) – $5.00
  • Family Pass (two adults and three children) – $20.00

The Museum is owned and operated by the County of Sullivan Division of Public Works through a dedicated team of employees and volunteers as well as visiting historical re-enactors who breathe life into our museum and help take our guests back into the world of the 1750s.

If you are a member of the Press, or a re-enactor, we are happy you have taken an interest in us. Please feel free to email us, and let us know when you are available, and (if you are a re-enactor) what sort of volunteering you would like to do, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
